This position falls within the SHIPALTs/ALT Program Support Business Area and may require additional hours of work to include weekends as required support of contract.
Provides direct technical support for NUWC (Code 34) as a RF Test Engineer for AN/BLQ10, ICADF and ISIS Systems on onboard U.S. Navy submarines. Testing will be performed in coordination with system installation/upgrades as pre-installation checkouts (PICO) and system onboard verfication testes (SOVT). Work entails executing, documenting and evaluating test results as well as assisting the government OSIC with waterfront field service engineering duties. In addition, may have to update test documentation as required. Occasional travel required to provide technical assistance and engineering support. A solid background in Electronic Warfare systems and/or RF testing is preferred.
The qualified candidate will have extensive electronic warfare/RF testing experience along with possessing a general working knowledge of test equipment. A solid background in electronics as well as a good understanding of U.S. fast track submarine systems integration is desired. A strong knowledge of waterfront and shipyard operations is desired. Knowledge of test procedure development, conduct testing and test equipment a plus. Strong communications skills are required to support this position. A good working knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Office is needed. Must be eligible to have a top secret clearance.
