$30 Million Contract Award to SEA CORP of Middletown, Rhode Island to Support Navy Electromagnetic Systems

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) of Middletown has just been awarded a three-year, $30 Million contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to support the Electromagnetic Department of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, Rhode Island.  SEA CORP is the prime contractor leading a team with 9 subcontractors that will provide support services in the areas of System Engineering Design, Development, & Evaluation; Software Engineering & Product Development; Testing & Maintenance; Information Assurance; Development of Technical Program Documentation; Development & Preparation of Communication Materials to support Design & Engineering efforts; Land-Based Facility and Shipboard Installation & Removal of Prototypes; Troubleshooting, Testing, & Support of Prototypes; and Library and Database Development.

This award represents a follow-on effort for SEA CORP and signifies a key feat in the increasingly competitive local business environment. SEA CORP, as the prime contractor, will coordinate services to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center.  SEA CORP has committed to a range of small business goals that will greatly enhance the small business participation in Navy systems support.

The Next Generation Architecture design of the future Electronic Surveillance System for submarines is well underway and SEA CORP has been an integral part of it through prior and existing support contracts to NUWC. Now that we have won this follow-on contract, we are confident to carry on in our key role of assisting the Navy with the introduction of this exciting and very improved EW capability to the submarine fleet.”

SEA CORP, a locally-owned Rhode Island business, was founded in Newport in 1981.  They provide a wide variety of systems and engineering services primarily to Government customers.  The company is headquartered in Middletown’s Aquidneck Corporate Park.  They employ about 350 professionals including engineers, scientists, technicians and management support personnel.
