$14.6M Contract for Submarine Portable Weapon Launch System Awarded to SEACORP of Middletown, RI

On May 14th, SEACORP, LLC (SEACORP) of Middletown was awarded a five-year, $14.6 Million contract from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport. SEACORP will continue to develop and produce the Submarine Portable Weapon Launch System (PWLS) from Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) components for use with weapons and other payloads launched from submarines. The PWLS will implement a COTS-based Open System Architecture (OSA) and will provide, at low cost, the ability to prototype applications related to Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW), Strike, surveillance, and other missions.

Efforts under this contract will focus primarily on modifying the submarine combat system as part of the development of payload integration prototypes. Work performed will include Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and requirements development, software development, integration, and testing.

“SEACORP is excited and proud to continue developing this versatile technology for the U.S. Navy,” said Dave Cadorette, SEACORP’s Senior Vice President of Business Development. “Our focus remains on meeting our customers’ needs for reduced long term production costs through demonstration of scalable prototypes.”
